New SBS 2008 SP2 Open License - CompanyWeb fails

Well, just purchased the Open License version of SBS 2008, it comes with
SP2 on the media that you order from MS's download site.

One would think that the install would, before any patches, at least
allow the local admin account (the first one you create) to be able to
access the http://companyweb, but NO, it's borked.

Not only does it ask for a password, but it doesn't work no matter how
many times you give it the password.

Why would MS release a NEW SBS media kit where one of the services,
COMPANY WEB doesn't work out of the box?

So, now I sit here syncing the updates and then doing the install of 30
new updates, IE8 being one of them, hoping that this new, fresh from MS,
Freshly patched, flawed out of the box, install works after the updates
    are installed.

Not only does Companyweb not work, even after all the updates, but I'm
getting the crappy Event Application ERRORS 2436/2424 every 5 minutes.

Why can't MS produce a clean install, even after SP2 has been released,
even after all the updates have been installed?

Ok, applied 8 more updates, some optional, didn't pay attention to the
KB numbers, Company Web now works.

Still seeing the dang 2436 event log errors.
