Windows Small Business Server 2008 and Windows 2008 Standard

Can you add Windows Server 2008 (and/or R2) Standard servers to an existing
Windows SBS 2008 network? I understand you cannot have more than one SBS
2008 server on one network (outside the allowed server instances stated in
the licensing agreement), however, I am trying to decide how to structure a
small network and break out 3rd party applications to additional servers.

Yes, in fact that's what SBS 2008 Premium does... it provides an additional
license for Windows Server 2008 so you can add that second server to the
    network.

    Thank's Merv.

One additional question, however. I have additional servers (outside the
SBS 2008 and 2008 standard) that I'd like to deploy on the same network. I
wanted the SBS for the e-mail integration, but also wanted to have these
other member servers deployed. I would not think this is an issue, but
wanted to double check before I make the final purchases.

    Thanks!

Shouldn’t be a problem. You can have as many additional member servers (or
even domain controllers) as you need.

And I should add that you need to either manually change the remote
access or build a specific group policy as once you move it out of the
computers OU I lost RDP as the group policy setting goes bye-bye.

    Susan,

What key is this RDP policy?
We lost the RDP ability at work and no one seems to know why.

    TIA

I just go into the system, remote tab and ensure that the 'enable remote
    access' is checked.

You shouldn't lose this ability on desktops.
