Can't run add user wizard SBS console feature not installed correc

I have recently installed Windows SBS 2008 on a Dell PowerEdge T605. After
completing the installation and running all the Windows updates, I tried to
add the users and groups to the server.
The first time I ran the Windows SBS console and clicked on the Users and
Groups tab, I receive the error message. "The Windows SBS console feature is
not setup correctly." The wizard window appears behind the error message and
disappears when the error is dismissed. User Roles tab shows no roles and
attempting to add a role gives the same issue as a new User. Groups behave
    the same way.
I have tried to repair the Windows SBS Console from the original
installation DVD Disc 2 but it did not make any difference. If I look in the
AD Users and Computers, the user I created during installation is there but
no users show up in the SBS Console. The users (Administrator and Tim) are
both Domaind Admins and are in OU kafebar.local\Users
The server name is KAFEBARSERVER and the domain is kafebar.local. The full
computer name in system inofrmation is KAFEBARSERVER.kafebar.local
No computers show in the Network tab of the SBS Console.

    Hello Tim,

Thanks for your post and Russ' suggestion.

Agree with Russ that checking the SBSsetup.log is always necessary.

Based on research and experience, this issue may occur when customers was attempting to create users and it was failing during the creation of the user account. When
selecting one of the three wizards below Administrator's may receive the
    following error:

"The Windows SBS Console feature is not setup correctly"

    a. Add A New User Account
    b. Add Multiple User Accounts
    c. Change User Role for User Accounts

If you look in the SBS Console Users and Groups > User Roles Tab you will also notice that all User Rules are missing. This issue can occur when the default user role
accounts SBS creates are ENABLED instead of DISABLED.

    To fix this issue:

    1. Open the SBSUsers OU within Active Directory Users and Computers.
    2. Disable the following accounts by right clicking and selecting Disable Account

    -Network Administrator
    -Standard User
    -Standard User with administration links

Once the accounts are disabled the Users Roles should reappear within the SBS console. If so, please try to run Add a New User Account wizard again to test. BTW, please
check MyBusiness OU name and make sure it is "MyBusiness" literally instead of anything else.

Hope this helps. Also, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Thanks for your suggestions. When I go to the Active Directory Users and
Computers the only OU is the kafebar.local
    The Users listed are
    Administrator
    Guest
    IUSR_WIN-EUGSO7LO7PY
    QBDataServiceUser18

The user names mentioned in your post do not exist and there is no SBSUsers.

I checked the SBSsetup.log and did not see anything that seemed suspicious.
Should I post my log or should I just bite the bullet and start over?

The problem with starting over is that I may end up in the same place.

    Hi Tim,

    Thanks for your reply.

I just would like to confirm with you that can you see there is an OU named "MyBusiness" under kafebar.local? Or "MyBusiness" OU is renamed to different OU. Please
make sure MyBusiness OU name and make sure it is "MyBusiness" literally instead of anything else. (Note, in ADUC, click View on the menu and select "Advanced
    features")

If you can see it, please expand it and see if there is "Users" and then "SBSUsers" OU?
By default, the following accounts are system default accounts that created when SBS is installed and all of them should be disabled after created.

    -Network Administrator
    -Standard User
    -Standard User with administration links

If there is indeed no OU at all under kafebar.local, I'm afraid you may have to start over to reinstall the SBS 2008 server. Please check and follow the below SBS 2008
    "Installation Worksheet" to do it.

    Robin,

Thanks for keeping with this. I can confirm that there is no "MyBusiness" OU
under kafebar.local. It has not been renamed, so I thnk it was probably not
created during install. I will take your advice and start over again. Also
thanks for the links to the documentation, etc.

    Cheers,
    Tim

    Hi Tim,

    Thank you for your update.

Since we cannot see the "SBSUsers" OU, we may have to go ahead and perform a reinstallation. Please do not hesitate to post in SBS newsgroup if you need any further
    assistance in the future.

    Have a nice day.
