    4125 RWW Not working Properly

    SBS2003 Std

I have and SBS2003 server that appears to not be forwarding port 4125
traffic. Clients and log into RWW but cannot "Connect to a client
computer". This has been working for almost 2 years now and now it has
stopped. I checked the router to make sure 4125 is still set up as a
    forward and all looks good.

After a little more testing I found an interesting twist. When a user
un-selects the option for mapping "drives" the 4125 does work. When the
check box is set in the options then it just stops at the screen and I don't
get the client computer screen. That tells me the router is forwarding
correctly but there is something with the server. What can I check?

    Thanks!

    -Richard K

Behind the scenes, RWW still uses RDP. If you haven't been keeping all of
your OS's up-to-date, there is likely a mismatch between the remote desktop
stuff on the server and on the client it is attempting to connect to.

    Check your updates...

    Hello Richard,

Thanks for your post and Cliff's suggestion.

As Cliff indicated, RWW still uses RDP so 4125 port will forward request to 3389 and do the RDP connection. I agree that please first check and make sure the clients system is
up to date. If necessary install the latest RDP connection for server and clients.

Remote Desktop Connection (Terminal Services Client 6.0) for Windows Server 2003 (KB925876)

Remote Desktop Connection (Terminal Services Client 6.1) for Windows XP (KB952155)
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

    Hope this helps.
