Hi All,
I am configuring a ws08 terminal server. When I add new users,
I would like them to have a predetermined set of icons on
their quick launcher. Where do I go to edit/configure
what these are?
Many thanks,
-T

there. If you want a complex set of changes then set up a new user and login.
Make the changes to the user and logoff. Now login as admin and in system
properties use the User Profile tool to copy the new user profile to the
"Default User" folder. Make sure to change the "permitted to use" setting so the
profile is not restricted to the user account you used to set it up.

I am not finding it under "C:\Users". Are they (WS08/Vista) hiding
"Default User" somewhere else?
Many thanks,

Hiding? Yes it is a hidden folder in \users. In Vista/W7 there are two folder,
"Default" and "default user". I do not know which is used to build the default
but it is easy to find out by adding a file to the desktop and logging in as a
new user to see what you get.
I also note that "default user" is cannot be modified by default by the
administrators group only by the system and the local administrator account.
I will need to investigate why there are these two folders. Unless some kind
sole cares to reveal why.
