    64bit or 32bit

    Hi,

I have a Dell PowerEdge 2950 III server hardware with *two* Intel QUAD
    CORE XEON E5420 (2.5GHZ)processors.

I plan to install a couple of win2008 servers virtually on this host
    (under vmware esx 3.5i).

    Should I use 64 or 32 bit windows 2008?

Would it do with two licenses, or do I need more in this scenario?

    Thanks for comments

    Jake

    Jake,
considering that you will be using virtualized platform (which implies that
you will likely not face driver compatiblity issues), I'd recommend x64 bit
(although this realy depends on what they will be used for and how much
memory they will have allocated). Refer to
http://www.microsoft.com/servers/64bit/overview.mspx for more info about its
    benefits...
