We had a server crash last week, and in the process IBM had me remove the
battery on the motherboard. When we finally got it up, the year was 2054. I
got the date reset, but ever since then, we have about 25% of our users that
cannot get their drive mapped by using the server name but they can get it
when mapped by IP address.



On about 1/2 of the machines that didn't work, I was able to fix it by
resetting winsock, but this didn't work on the other half. I would greatly
appreciate any suggestions.

I think we need to gather some more facts.
What errors do you have in the server event log?
What error do you get exactly when you try to map a drive; or when you make
a UNC path to the server?
Removing the battery resets the BIOS. What problem were IBM trying to solve
by doing that?
