ADPREP runs ok but cant add server as DC

Im adding a win2008 SP1 server to our domain as a DC. I've run adprep from
the 32 bit 2008 DVD on our primary win 2003 DC and if I try and run it again
it tells me its already run. The object version of the schema is now 44.
When I try and add our win2008 SP1 server it tells me I need to update the
forest by running adprep (which of course Ive already done). Can anyone
suggest what I need to do get past this point?
    Thanks
    Roger.

    Hello Roger,

You have to run adprep /forestprep AND adprep /domainprep, i suggest you
also run adprep /rodcprep to prepare the domain for read-only domain controllers.

    Best regards

Hi Meinholf - thanks for the quick reply- I had run all of these but wasnt
having any luck - it looks like it was a timning issue as it suddenly sprang
to life withouht any changes - maybe the second existing DC was struggling
to update while I was trying initially.

    Hello Roger,

Nice to hear. After forestprep you have to wait fro replication to all DCs
what can take time depending on the setup. With a forest and multiple domains
this of course needs lot more time.

So you know for the next time, give time between the commands also and for
    replication.

    Best regards

I usually run adprep /forestprep then wait a couple of days before running
adprep /domainprep. Then a couple of days later you can go ahead.

Of course if you don't want to, or don't have the luxury of time, you can
force replication to all of your DC's after each step.
