I won't get into all the details of this but just have a quick
question. I have a person that I've been working with that does his
own network security on his 2003 Domain. Recently he called me in a
panic on how a folders security could change without him doing it.
Basically he removed a group and then it was back in there a few
months later. The folder is setup correctly to not inherit
permissions from the parent folder and even if the parent folder
propegated down to that folder it would have been complete different
permissions.

What I'm wondering is if someone has ever had a wierd scenario like
this or experienced an updated causing some unknown problems.

Without knowing the share and NTFS permissions on the folder all answer will
be just speculation and not really a qualified information. Permissions will
not change themself, it MUST be done with an account that is allowed to do
it.
