| Newbie Rep Power: 7  |  HELP - can't install or run any downloaded programs please help!! whenever i download an .exe program or .msi installer vista shows:  iTunes installer for example, but occurs with all downloaded files. However programs i already had on my hdd install fine. I have not yet had time to test a 64 bit native app to see if it installs fine, but all the programs i try and fail to run once downloaded are on the compatibility list. thanks |

Go to this link and click on the .exe in the box to download exefix_vista.zip. Follow the rest of the Usage instructions for how to install it. | Newbie Rep Power: 7 | Re: HELP - can't install or run any downloaded programs Thanks for your help but i can't extract the patch!!! unzip error edit: i opened it on a different pc and added it to the registry, but the problem is still there. Any .exe, .msi, or any archive with an .exe or .msi in it does not run when downloaded. Errors range from 'Windows Installer Error 0x8007000d' to 'Unspecified Error 0x8004005' and others. I also tried uninstalling all updates, because i used to be able to run these files, but that did not help either. |

Try running a sfc /scannow command to see if it will fix your problem. This tutorial will show you how. | Newbie Rep Power: 2 | Re: HELP - can't install or run any downloaded programs I had the same thing I could not install any downloaded programs. I have finally found the solution. The problem is the wireless usb card. It somehow corrupts the data when installed in vista. I have disconnected my wireless usb card and just plugged in a network cable and now everything works fine. I hope you have the same luck. |

One possible error is registry corruption and second cause that it may possible that i tune version is not compatible with vista. I have faced same problem with 3d max. then i downloaded the patches for vista. |
