Re: looking for a DVD Burner

You want a DVD burning Software or a DVD burner(hardware) ?

DVD Burning Software - get Nero 7 (ALMOSt everyone uses it,comes free with most DVD Burners)
As for the hardware pick any new one(LG/Sony/Pioneer..) and buy a SATA DVD Burner if you can.

Re: looking for a DVD Burner

All Burners will be compatible.
As i mentioned previously go for a SATA DVD Burner ,brandwise i would say Pioneer,Samsung SH-S203B(has been getting very good reviews) and Sony (in that order).

Re: looking for a DVD Burner

DVD Burners previously used the PATA Interface (parallel ATA)

Newer DVD Burners have started using theSATA interface.
The cables are thinner, drives are faster(a bit) along with other features.
To use SATA Drives your Motherboard needs to have a SATA Port, almost all newer Machines have it (Check your Motherboard manufacturers Website to see if your board has a SATA Port).

Hope this helps.
