Trying to update my computer

I was given instructions to repair the problem I have been having the past seven months trying to install updates for my computer. And it fails all the time and I get these error codes.

1 --8007000B

2 --80070643

3 --643

Also I cannot install the update --KB941090 to repair my inbox mail.

Do I receive a reply here or will someone contact me through e-mail ?

What is the normal waiting time for response to these questions for help ?

Thanks

Hi bluedog,

The normal waiting time can span from half a day to 2 days. (Or... maybe longer... that depends on the specific problem.)

For error code 8007000B, there's an unverified solution, you can take a try:
1. Turn off UAC
2. run "fsutil resource setautoreset true c:\" (if your vista is installed in driver C:\) in the cmd.
3. Reboot.
4. You should be able to update your os. You can also turn on UAC at this moment.

Hey DeXtmnL,

I have tried different scenarios and I am still unable to install the needed updates for my computer.

I turned off the UAC and clicked open, and I also tried it as a administrator.

I also tried 'fsutil resource setautoreset true c;\" with the exclamation marks

Also fsutil resource setautoreset true c;\ without the exclamation marks .

Rebooted my computer and tried to update a couple of times and I still get the error message.

What do you think the problem is ?

Thanks

Well, i must say that appears so strange...
Maybe i should go googling and consult my friends about it.
also, you can take some positive action. such as phone your vendor for some support (it's the best if their engineers can get hands on your pc). In case you are a Dell user, then you are lucky. Dell's customer service is proven shiny.

I will try to give your the ans as soon as possible :geek:

OK, i have googled for err code 80070643 and, at the same time, queried my friends about it.
Both google and my friends tell me that error mainly occurs on updating office 2003. Do you have a copy of ms office?
If you do own it, these links may be helpful:

Windows Update or Office Update Encounters 0×80070643 Failed Update Error » My Digital Life

You receive an "Error 80070643" error message when you try to update Office 2003 by using Software Update Services

It's true that one of my friends had once got across the 80070643 problem. He cleared it just by following the steps listed in the first article. So, take a try.

I want to thank you for all of the time and effort that you have put in researching this for me.

I was able to download all the updates and everything is working just fine.

Again thanks a million
