Re: Cleanup Tools

pfft. I you install all your apps on day one and never install another thing nor change your settings repeatedly, a year later your registry will not magically be clogged.

And you need to read the topic going on right now in the Vista News section: Registry Cleaners: Boon or Boondoggle?

Might also try paying for it instead of a pirated Torrent eh ?

Re: Cleanup Tools

Before I bought an OEM version of windows I used to do a clean install every year. Now with all the updates this seems too time consuming.

I delete all 7,000 of them and doesn't seem to be causing any problems.

If it is a clean install I would leave the registry alone. If you do delete anything then review what you are going to delete.

Re: Cleanup Tools

what a coincidence !!

i only downloaded this app the other night after recent talk that registry cleaners are not all that bad

so i ran AML & it came back with 1.920 errors ....
as you can imagine i was quite dubious about removing them..
so i backed up my registry & removed the lot, rebooted the machine ...no problems at all

I agree and that is one reason I use TuneUp Utilities, I used the 2007 version and now the 2008 version. It will show you what it found and it lets you choose to clean or not.
