Vista - Cannot get this program to run

I have Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I install this program (Shipping Assistant) and it will not open (however the previous version worked fine). I get this error:

I've heard of several programs not working properly in Vista. Two types of solutions seem to fix 90% of the problems:

1. Right click on the program icon and run as administrator.

2. Or right click, click on properties and try running it in compatibility mode, like for XP SP2. In the compatibility mode you can also set it to always run as an administrator.

Well...the solution is to run the previous version.... if it gave you what you wanted...report the dodgy software to the company that made it.

greg81 did not mention it in his post, but the software comes from the US Postal Service to allow you to calculate postage and print labels. They do not allow you to use anything but the most current version. Unfortunately, they are not big on support, in my experience. So greg81 has no choice. So far, I have had to run to another computer that still runs XP to print my labels.

I actually get as far as telling the program to print, then it says "Shipping Assistant has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." (BTW: Does it every have a solution?!)

If anyone has other ideas, I would appreciate any replies! Thx
