Go Back

Hey there,

I installed "Go Back" to my new laptop (Windows Vista Home Premium 64) and now the laptop isn't able to boot anymore. (it starts booting and then it stops when GoBack starts running, GoBack errors: Internal error - press any key to reboot) So I can't boot Windows to unistall this program. (Now I figured out it's not compatible to Vista...)
Has anyone ever had the same problem? Does anyone know what I could do?

Hi Patrick and Welcome to Vistax64.com!

Just as the compuer starts up and before the boot screen keep pressing F8 to gain access to the boot-menu and select Safe-Mode, from there you can uninstall the program...

Re: Go Back

Lesson learned..

Never use products made by Symantec.

They are garbage.

Re: Go Back

it saved my ass a couple off times while using Windows XP though...
but I learned this lesson: fist check wheter a program is compatible to vista or not before installing it.

Just so you know. Norton's Goback does not support Vista period. I would suggest looking at RollBack Rx is you want something that performs full snapshot restores like goback.

My friends that are in IT, say that Rollback rx is more reliable as well.

Here is a link to the RollBack rx product: Horizon DataSys Inc. - System Restore Software PC Fix any computer problem without imaging
