Microsoft Office trial version still remains after uninstall

The trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student edition, that came preinstalled with Vista Premium, 32bit, had expired and so I tried to uninstall it using the Add Remove Programs Feature. After doing this, however, when I start up the computer a message comes up automatically saying something like "Microsoft Office is not responding, check for a solution online and close the program or close the program". I have already uninstalled it, or so I thought, so why does this message appear and how can I get rid of it? I'm assuming the program wasn't completely removed by the uninstall process.
Thanks for your help

Hi, DaveWfg, and welcome to the forums.

First off, a bit of information. Microsoft Office (in any way, shape or form) does not come installed with *vista* - rather, it came installed with your machine because your manufacturer put it there.

Now, on to why it seems to be not gone - it could just as easily be a *third party* program that interfaces with Microsoft Office that is causing the problem - can you either post a screen shot of the error message you are receiving, or else tell us *exactly* what it says?

The problem is with my father's computer, actually, and as I won't be out there 'til the weekend I can't tell you word for word what the "message" is. All I can say is, it's the same message that has come up for programs that are incompatible with Vista. My father tried installing his older version of Microsoft Works Suite, which seemed to install, but when opening any of the programs associated with the Suite, he gets "this program has stopped responding, search for a solution online and close the program, or close the program". This is the same message that now comes up when I start up his computer, but regarding Microsoft Office, even though I did uninstall the trial version of the software, and it comes up automatically before opening any program.
Somebody else suggested a couple of things to try. I'll try those first on Sunday, and if they don't work I'll get back to you with the "exact" error message.
Thanks for all your help.

I had the same problem, Office 2007 Trial is a b***h. Anyways, try this program and then run the uninstaller: Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.

If this does not work, post back here and give a list of everything that happens so we can find out the exact problem.
