| Vista Home Premium 64 bit SP1 | mousewheel.ocx Anyone notice an activex named mousewheel.ocx with a modification date of August 31 2008 on your system? All it has in resource info is a version number of 1.0.0.25 No company info. I see it on both my Vista and XP machines and I'm not sure how it got there. It's in the \Windows\system32 folder. I did Unregister Server on it and I don't see any difference. Doesn't seem to do anything. Mouse wheel works afaik. Last edited by MilesAhead; 10-20-2008 at 06:13 PM.. Reason: more info |

| Vista Ultimate x64 Service Pack1 | Re: mousewheel.ocx I have used a mouswheel.ocx file from Microsoft and also there is code to use if you are in an environment that does not alow you to register an ActiveX control. More specifics: What this does in programs written in MS office apps that involve the use of a database and recordsets the mouse wheel by default will cycle thru the records. This is a pain if you are editing records or even previewing them because alot of people have the habit of playing with the wheel. When you scroll off a record it is automatically saved and this can cause errors if all the information is not correct. There is no way to disable this without the use of this ocx file or the code itself incorporated into your program. An ocx file is an ActiveX control that can be registered and used in programs and web pages. This is the file with code, clsid and other pertinent information. I hope this was some help as this is the first reply I felt comfortable with since joining this forum. Last edited by BruBern; 10-29-2008 at 06:13 PM..
