Re: Junk files

Yes you were Joan, thank you, as long as I get there in the end, that's all that matters left to my own devices I would never get things sorted out

Strange, it should not be. See if you can do it with the main C:\Program Files (x86)\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SpybotSD.exe file.

Re: Junk files

Strange, use the methods listed below for the tutorial below to see if we cannot force it to run as administrator.

Compatibility Mode List of Programs

1. For step 5C, use C:\Program Files (x86)\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SpybotSD.exe

2. For step 5E, use RUNASADMIN

Re: Junk files

Well I tried that and I noticed that there is a tick in the privilege box, but its still greyed out, and the problem remains that when I start S&D it tells me there are a number of temp files blah blah, and I have a few seconds to choose yes or no, I chose yes and then it still says "files in use and cannot be removed"

I am sorry that all your time and effort to help are not working for me

Maybe I have the wrong version of Spybot? its version 1.6 though, and that is the latest I think

Re: Junk files

1.6 is the latest version of Spybot.

Well, I suppose that the temp files are just still currently being used then, and just cannot be deleted yet. If you really need to delete them, then you may be able to from within Safe Mode.

Re: Junk files

So long as they would'nt slow my system down, I would leave them be, but at just over 110 it seems alot, but if they have no effect on things I would leave alone

Thanks Brink
