| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Tom Tom Home 2.5.2.60 Hi, Since October 2008 (the first time I installed TomTom Home) I have exactly the same problem in spite of the version of the program. The 1st and 2nd echelons of TomTom helpdesk offered me a lot of possible solutions, but none was a real solution. It is remarkable, but sometimes the program starts normally without the error. This is in 1 percent of all the attempts to start up the program and unpredictable. The last TomTom helpdesk message (December 2008) says the experts of TomTom gave in. My previous personel Computer (XP-SP3 and the same other software) has no problems to start TomTom Home. I have tried everything: cleaning folders and register from old versions of TomTom Home, installing and/or start-up the program without firewall and virusscanner, using administrator rights, clossing all programs in the background etc. I'am using a brandnew machine with the most updated drivers and software. It is remarkable that the TomTom helpdesk tells me that I am the only person who reports this problem. Now I see another person with the same error and in contact with the TomTom helpdesk. Are more people with the same TomTom Home error in Vista? |

| vista home premium 32 bit | Re: Tom Tom Home 2.5.2.60 Just so you know you are not alone! I have the same problem as you with TomTom Home ... and have suffered this for many months. I can get it to work after about 10 - 20 attempts, which means I can upgrade my maps etc (eventually!) TomTom absolutely refuse to admit there is a problem .... and I have now given up with their so called "experts" as they do not read my emails and only give stock answers that have nothing to do with the question. I asked TomTom about the point in having the error code and asking us to send it to them, if they then don't know what it means! They never give a direct answer except to imply that we (the customer) are the only one suffering this problem and give the impression they would like us to please go away. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, cleaned the registry, and everything else known to mankind....Nothing works! I now use my laptop to update my Satnav which runs the same Vista setup but without the errors on TomTom Home. I wish you luck if you try to persevere with TomTom, but don't hold your breath. Rodger. |

| Vista Ultimate 32 SP1 | Re: Tom Tom Home 2.5.2.60 LOL yes that is excatly right, sometimes it will work, but then it will stop working. I too have given up with them, all I want is a PREVIOUS version of the software but NO ONE can even give me that. DOES ANYONE have the 2.4 setup which I can somehow download, as 2.5 has obviously got issues. Thanks, Ben |

| Vista Home Premium 32 bit now with SP2! | Re: Tom Tom Home 2.5.2.60 For what it's worth, I have just downloaded Home 2.5 and though the program starts fine on the computer, my TomTom freezes when I try to restart it after I update it on the computer. It never did that before this. Server100, where did you go to get tech support? I think maybe no one is reporting problems 'cause their tech support site is well hidden or maybe I'm missing it?Peppurr |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Tom Tom Home 2.5.2.60 Hi Peppurr101, It is not so easy to contact the TomTom helpdesk. They are really hidden for their customers. Click on the following link and follow the instructions. It is the link to the English language page. If you like another language, you can change the language in the right top of the webpage. In the Dutch language webpage, which I used, you will unfortunaltely read a lot of irrelevant FAQ (many pages) before you reach the e-mail possibility to contact the helpdesk with your specific question. I suppose the same in the other language webpages to prevent many contacts with the helpdesk. TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems - Support home Good luck Server |
