How do I undo a OneCare restore?

Unable to restore to latest backup.

For some reason OneCare is not allowing me to restore to the latest backup (7 days ago). I can only select the main OneCare Backup folder, so I decided to allow this restore. It took quite a few hours and now I'm in shock!

It actually restored everything from the beginning of 2008; there are thousands of files everywhere and some of my programs are not working correctly.

How can I setup OneCare properly to restore to the last backup?

I've spoken to Onecare support twice today. I guess my settings are messed up as well because we were not able to allow support to access my computer.

It's wierd that at 8 a.m. both the phone agent and later the chat agent said they would send me a step-by-step 'how to' email but I've not received either of them.

I would greatly appreciate any help to get back to normal,

Maks

Thanks Patio, I heard that and I'm sorry to see it go. Other than this backup fiasco, OneCare has kept our office computers free and clear of ALL problems and freed up a lot of my time.

I hate the thought of going back to 3 or 4 different programs to do all that OneCare does.

Where does the latest One Care backup reside and what is the name of the backup it used when you ran it ? ?
Perhaps we can fake it out some way...

Therein lies the latest problem!

I copied the entire backup from the computer that hosts "Network, Desktop-XXX, External (G), Windows OneCare Backup", then changed the backup plan in OneCare to a to a flash drive on the laptop I want restored. OneCare didn't like that at all.

Now OneCare doesn't recognize the file on the original external drive anymore.

Have I made it impossible to fake it out now? And thank you for trying to help Patio.

The info on deleting a backup is below:
How to delete a Windows Live OneCare Backup file
I was thinking you could just do this and replace it with the one saved to external.
But before you do so post the exact filenames and relative paths to each as they stand now...
I've also read there's a few tricks to getting rid of old backups so we'll see...
