Solved Adobe Flash Player

Hi everyone
I'm new to this forum and do not know if this subject is suitable to this forum and if so I do not know where it should have been posted. So apologises in advance to all concerned.

I have vista home basicx32bit.
I have been using vista for two yrs now almost and not had a problem with it, until now.

I cannot watch youtube videos or news reel videos on my laptop.
Each time I try I have an error message telling me I do not have the proper version of Flash Player and to click their links to download the latest version..
I have done tjis many many many times until I feel like tossing this laptop out of the wndow.

When I do download it and activate it by installing it, I am able to watch youtube and news reels.
BUT,
Whenever I close my computer down or reboot, and open up my browser once more, I then try to watch a youtube video and again the same problem arises.

Now I have read elsewhere that Adobe Flash Player could have a bug in it, OR there is something on my puter that is preventing it from installing properly.

I do have CCleaner and a program which patches new programs or looks for new ptaches for any programs I have installed... it is called Secunia PSI.

I have Advast antivirus pro, and I have windows firewall and defender running.

I was able to watch videos from youtube and news reels before last week, but not since.

I even did a system restore several times to try and fix the problem.

Can someone help me please or point me to where there is help available.

Again apologises if this post is not suitable in this forum.

Regards

Hi Belfastmale45 and welcome,

Uninstall your Adobe Flash with the uninstaller. Make sure flash is not in use or open, close your browsers. You may wish to restart your computer after you uninstall it. Reinstall it from the link below. If you use IE, then go to a site that requires flash, such as watching a youtube video and click yes to install the activex for flash player. It should work, although like you say, something may be preventing it from install right on your computer. Avast or Windows Defender has never had a problem with it for me.
