| Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | Re: Java Update v6-13 Believe it or not but update thingy in control panel works. Since Java now patches old install instead of adding Java installation no. X there is no longer a need to uninstall/install/download manually. I still cant believe it works but it does. They also have 64bit version now btw. |

| Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 Windows 7 Ultimate x64 TECHNET | Re: Java Update v6-13 Yeah, but you may still have to uninstall your old version first if you've having problems. And the 64 bit link is in the link I posted, just select Windows x64 from the drop down list. You can install both the 32 and 64 bit versions if you're running x64. |

| Windows Vista home Premium SP1 | Re: Java Update v6-13 In control panel I see Java SE runtime enviorment 6 update 1 and java 6 update 13, but when I go into MY COMPUTER and search java I geta few java files that all say they that they were created today at the time of the java update and modified on 3/9/09 wich doesnt make sense. I downloaded the java update from a little thing that popped up in the bottom right corner of my screen. when I test for it on java's website I get this- You are using a newer version of JRE than available on java.com your configuration is vendor-sun microsystems inc version- java 6 update 13 Am I ok? |

| Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | Re: Java Update v6-13 Yes, they started this patching with version. 10, or may be 11. Olders versions probably wont be auto-uninstalled. java 6 update 13 is latest version. And as Airbot hinted you should uninstall old version. Will just sit there if you dont. Some scanners like Secunias will warn of security risk, any old is risky in their eyes. Dont know about that since disabled but kill it, no reason to keep. After that any future update should be patched into previous installation. Last edited by dk70; 03-25-2009 at 03:01 PM.. |
