Hi all.

I have installed the latest version of windows live mesenger beta a couples of days ago and i found that the web cam became blur when im having video chat with my friends. So i uninstalled it from control panel and choose the uninstall program. I have checked qll the box including the messenger, movie maker, silver light etc. When i try to install the older version fo the msn it didnt allow me to do so & said that i have the newer version with me. So i repeat the uninstallation process from control panel a few times and it still the same then i get mad & deleted the whole windows essentilas from my laptop but i still cannot reinstall the windows live messenger (neither new nor old version). Help plsssssssss :cry::cry::cry::cry:

If you’re using XP, click START, then RUN and input this: msiexec /x {B1403D7D-C725-4858-AACC-7E5FA2D72859}.

If using Vista, hit START, then input msiexec /x {B1403D7D-C725-4858-AACC-7E5FA2D72859} in the search area and hit ENTER and run the command.

Let me know if this helps.

Cheers,

I'm glad things are working for you now. What exactly don't you like about the new version? I've been using it a while and haven't really noticed any huge changes that make it too different from the previous version.

I'm really enjoying the Favorites feature, since there are a couple people I talk to all the time that I like to have at the top of the list. Also, the ability to send SMS (text) messages is pretty cool.

If you haven't checked out those features, I'd definitely recommend you do.

Cheers,
Ron

Dear Ron,

sorry for later reply as i am so busy recently. I dont like the new version as after i installed the latest version when i hv the video chat with my fren the cam became so blur and i cant even c my own face clearly but there was no problem with my internet connection. Second, its hard to uninstall the new version of windows live messenger. I never know that the we can send sms by the latest version. I would like to know more about it as currently im using the latest windows live messenger in my office whereas i use the old version at home.

Thanks.

No worries.

If you want to uninstall the latest version, you need to click Start, click Control Panel, click Uninstall a Program - from there you select Windows Live Essentials from the list and hit Uninstall.

A window will come up asking you which tools you wish to remove - choose Windows Live Messenger and continue.

What exactly are you not liking about the new messenger?

Cheers,

this is my problem. I have windows live messenger and I know it has a virus or bug in it. So far most of my contacts have deleted me or blocked me due to the fact that somehow in the past 2 months i have been away it has been sending them sex sites or other BS sites. Now I want to permentaly delete it but when I go into my uninstall programs it is not there to properly uninstall but it is on my desktop and automatically starts. Any suggestions of getting rid of Live messenger or doing a rewrite. PS Kaspersky can't find it either.
