Spooler Subsystem Error on Windows XP

MSDOS

Banned
We are facing issues with Printer Spooler Subsystem. We are on a system with Windows XP installed and we are trying to install a HP printer. We have tried every possible steps starting from removing the HP drivers till editing the registry , from clearing off the printer spooler folder contents etc etc. We tried to run a program called Spooler Fix that found errors however since it was a shareware it did not allow to fix the problem. There is no scope for a reinstallation since the DVD drive does not work.

error: " Spooler subsystem has caused an error" ,
This error comes up after we try to restart teh spooler service.

Is there any program / batch file free to download that can fix the print spooler service. ???

Thanks for replying back ... Well , as i said we have exhausted all the steps from MS website. We have tried to go by the following article which i created after assimilating all the stuff( its my blog BTW) :
Communication Error on Printer - What the heck « Windows Vista - Shaun’z Blog

Now , if i try those steps :

net stop spooler

sc config spooler depend= RPCSS
net start spooler
exit

after 1 minute i get the error ... BANG ....will show you the error screen shot. :

In simple english the spooler service can not be started , even if we start the service it gets terminated. Lemme also say that we ran Complete Scan with MalwareBytes and found over 1000 trojan / infected objects which we successfully removed and rebooted the system , but with less joy...

Isn't there a batch file / repair utility somewhere on the internet line that can get me the spooler working ??

BTW i tried this "Print Spooler Fix Wizard"

Thank you for downloading Printer Spooler Fix Wizard from Download.com

but it asks me to pay before resolving the issues... HELP

SPOOLSV is a container process in the sense that it runs a whole heap of non-default code on many machines, most of them being printer drivers and port monitors.

Something running inside SPOOLSV on your machine is causing it to crash.

I'd suggest not bothering with "Buy Me And I'll Fix Your PC" utilities because they almost universally suck, plus you're more likely to fix it yourself anyway - assuming it can be fixed in a practical way after that virus infestation :)

Can you paste some of the technical data from that error report here, or attach it as a text file? I'm interested in the "stack" mostly.
