Can't type a "?" in MS Word, comes up as a "É"

Hello, I am running an Acer Aspire using Vista Home Premium 32bit, and I have a problem that when I try to type a question mark into MS Word, the result is an É. Upon further inspection of my keyboard, I have noticed that when I try to type a few more other keys, various letters with accents appear. Example, when I press the apostrophe key, this character appears: è.

My keyboard is bilingual with the French characters in green, while the English characters are in white, and the Fn characters are in blue.

All of my characters (ie. question mark) can type fine on internet browsers and on messengers, however it is just the MS Word that is having a problem with it.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

In the bottom right in the language bar you can change the language back to "US English"

It changes on its own sometimes. Have no idea why.
