yeah, very strange...is it maybe something about my network?
seems like it is a sharing folder from MediaCenter to my PC.
But I checked on Vista and it's all ok...I have not sharing folders enabled, so I don't know where to look for more.
I hope to find it out, especially now that I fixed everything with MediaCenter.

erkole
Are you asking how to remove a desktop icon?

Right click the desktop icon you want to remove

Click Cut (not delete)

Move pointer to the Recycle Bin

Click Paste

If I right click inside the MediaCenter another option menu comes out. That's the problem...there's no delete or cut option there.
The desktop icon is together with Movies and in truth is a link to my PC desktop that I wouldn't like to see there.
Is it clear now?
Bye ;)

My Computer

Looks to me like that's part of the media center index.
If you (were too) download and save a file to your desktop rather than a folder or another drive, that's where it would be. Drag a media file to the desktop to see if the file shows up in the desktop icon. Just a guess,

Ok off to do other stuff than putter with my computer.

Pray for me! I installed Adobe Photoshop elements 7

My Computer

I just put mkv videos inside the Video folder, inside Vista, inside INTERNAL HARD DISC.
Same thing for music.
And all other files are located in another external hard disc.
And yes the file is always there, never goes away.

My Computer

I suggest that you consider it a Microsoft Feature and move on with life, probably not what you want to hear.
A better answer may appear...some day.

My Computer

what happens if you remove everything from that folder.

Make a folder on your desktop labeled "Back-up".
Select all, and cut/paste them into that "back-up" folder.
Is there anything left inside the Media Center? Is the Desktop shortcut still there?
If it is, there may be a remote way of turning that "feature" off. But I do not know it. Try searching online for "Media Center options" or Media Center Features"?

Good luck.

I solved it, it's just a little bug of Vista Media Center...there was not folder like that on my desktop so i just changed some sharing folders settings from MediaCenter's option menu and magically that icon's disappeared.
