Nero driving me MAD PLEASE ASSIST

Guys I am ready to explode! Not a pretty sight if it happens. I cannot for the life of me get nero V7. 8 or even 9 to run and burn data or any cd variety. I ahve tried many different brands and none of the cheapo stuff. All I get after a while is illegal disk WTF this is just normal backup data of mine including pictures. Nero dont answer any emails and I can no longer sit in frotn of this PC for hours just trying to clean all traces with regedit.
Caqn Any one assist with a fix??

Or just use Imgburn. The thing I liked best about Nero Burning ROM when I used v. 6 was making SVCDs with easy to do menu buttons. I don't create SVCD anymore. Most file conversions you can do with freeware. Unless you need motion menus or fancy authoring, you can author with free tools too.

A gui like FAVC for avi -> dvd and for going the other way, dvd -> avi, use AutoGK.

For audio CD burning burrrn portable works on my Vista64. No need for 2 ton burning apps unless you are wedded to some project that depends on Nero tools.

edit: but either way, you should use the removal tool first. No disagreement there.
