Hello Themba & welcome to Vista Forums.:)
Are you using MS Office Access & Excel 2003 or 2007?
Have you been using these programs without a problem prior to this glitch?
Do other Office programs that you normally use open without a problem?
Have you tried uninstalling & reinstalling?

1.Ms Word and other progrms work correctly
2.Access and Excel were working in last 2 days and this problem started after trying to install antivirus progrm that did not install, due to this error message
" your administrator has disabled registry editing"

Thanks

Themba,
Not all problems have a simple answer & are easy to fix.
We need to know a bit more to understand what's going on with your computer & Office Access & Excel.
What Anti Virus program were you trying to install that failed?
Did your computer have a preinstalled Anti Virus program? If so what was it?

The name of anti virus is Norton- symantec and there was no pre-installed anti virus progrms.

It may be worth considering a System Restore to a date prior to the failed Norton installation / Access & Excel problem, to see if that works.
BTW What Anti Virus program were you running before this happened?

I was running same Norton before upgrading to Vista Altimate.

As we speak today, all my programs have the same problem.

Last night, I ran a registry booster software and about 220 errors detected under HKEY_LOCAL _MACHINE SOFTWARE etc but I did not fix them as I have to buy this software first at cost of R250.00 (South African Rand)

Do you think this might be the cause?

You need to more forthcoming with information to enable us to better help you.
It would appear that your problems are not just with Access & Excel.
You say that all of your programs have the same problem. Which programs? What problems?
Vista Altimate??? More details please.
Registry booster??? Again more details needed.
It would be wise to resist the temptation to download more programs as you could compound the problems that you already have.

Progrmas: MS Office 2007 Applications

Problems: errorr message: 'the program has stopped working,Windows will collect information"

The registry booster: software I used to scan the Registry.

Windows Vista Altimate: OS that Im currenlty using after upgrading from Windows Vista Home basic.

I hope this might be clearer

Themba,
I'm trying to sum things up.
Recently -
1. You have been using Registry "boosters" / cleaners.
You need to realize that some programs that scan the Windows registry have the potential for messing something up. That is why it is so important to back up your registry before running any scanning software. Did you do this?
I'd advise you to not do any more.
2.You have also upgraded to Vista Ultimate 32- bit. [If you had filled in your User CP in detail I wouldn't have to ask you this.]
3. As well, you have had a Norton problem. In your third post you said that you had a failed install, in your fourth post you said that you were using Norton Anti Virus.
4.Your mounting Office problems happened during the above stages .
Please confirm that this is all correct.
