Vista - PSE with Vista 64 bit HELP PLEASE!!

I am new to this forum and stumbled across it while searching for a solution to my problem. I have read a lot of conflicting posts so I'm not really sure what to do. I tried to install PSE 7 (2X) on my new HP desktop (6 GB with Vista Home Premium 64 bit). It seemed to install fine, however won't launch. When I try to open it from the desktop icon or off of the c drive - program file i get a messge that reads "MISSING SHORTCUT - Windows is searching for photoshop elements 7.0 exe to locate the file yourself click browse" I would really appreciate any help anyone can offer. I only have 2 weks to decide if I want to keep this computer. PSE is the main program that I run on it. Be gentle with me - I am not completely computer illiterate however some of the lingo is sometimes a little puzzling to me.

right click the app and click open file location. It will and then see if the app is there and can be launched

Thanks for your quick response. I tried that and got the same message. I can open the c drive and go into adobe folder and all the contents are there. however i can't see the exe file - which to my understanding is what i need. Any other thots? I have loaded this succesfully onto a previous laptop and have had no problems with it.

Look in C:\Program Files(x86) for it or C:\Program Files.

I tried that - still won't open

Where did you install it?

in the c drive in the program file (x86)
