| Vista Home Premium 32bit | USB Issue Pretty strange that I couldn't find one google result about WHERE a USB 2.0 port is, everything is "how do I know I have USB 2.0" and not actually where they are on the computer. Some may say well, just plug in a USB 2.0 usb and see what happens. However my USB Drive has ALWAYS been saying I'm plugging it in in a port that does not support USB 2.0. I've done this at my college and the same bs occurs. This does not occur for any of my USB drives, not even my 16G one. Should also mention that whenever I try to access the USB drive, it says "Drive E not formatted, would you like to format it now?" Obviously I click no. This by the way has nothing to do with my recent virus issues. This particular USB drive has been like this for years now. Help. But it is very important now to find out which port on a computer is 2.0. Is there a logo/identifier or something? |

| Windows Vista Enterprise x64 SP2 | Re: USB Issue Look at your device manager and go down to universal serial bus control. If you see Standard PCI to USB Host Controller , then you have USB 1.x If it's Standard Enhanced, then it's 2.0 |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: USB Issue I did that, went to control panel and followed the instructions on how to find out if you have USB 2.0. However it giving me a list of what USB ports I have isn't telling me which ports on the PC is USB 2.0 or 1. There isn't like a diagram showing you if the ports on the side, back, etc. are 2.0 or not. That is the problem, and also because my laptop showed like...20 available ports when I only saw 3 on my entire laptop. That's why the specs are useless (IMO). Could be infected with the similar crap as well. Malware makers are like online Hitlers or something. Last edited by Wandering Flame; 10-12-2009 at 08:28 PM.. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: USB Issue Will this tell me which ports on my laptop is 2.0 or will it list me all the ports I have (which control panel said was over like, 20, 20 "unused ports" but I only saw 3 on my laptop). My goal is to be able to pinpoint which port on my laptop is 2.0. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: USB Issue I don't see why it is apparently so hard to tell which visible port on a PC is 2 or 1.0. The problem with diagnostics is they for some reason list ports you never though existed on your computer (i.e. way more ports than you can actually see) not to mention does not let you know which of the ports are in fact USB 2.0 and so on. It's not like it lets you know once you put a USB drive in one. |
