power cinama

My power cinama is set to "0" ie will play region free dvd's. I can play these ok and also any dvd's that I have recorded myself. I cannot play any dvd's that I have bought, I just get a messge come up to say that I have to change to region "2" for this. If I do this will I still be able to play the dvd's that I have recorded myself and the region free ones. Can anyone help?

Re: power cinama

Hello Allanm, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Yes, you will still be able to play the DVDs that you record yourself.

DVD region codes are a DRM technique designed to allow motion picture studios to control aspects of a release, including content, release date, and, price; according to the region. DVD video discs may be encoded with a region code restricting the area of the world in which they can be played.

You can read more details about DVD region codes in the link below if you would like to.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
