Does Vista include fax software?

If not is there a reasonable free software package?

I do not oft send a fax, and I do so from a Win 2000 system with the provided fax software.

However, today, I needed to send the same fax to two doctors, so I included both numbers.

Took about 50 minutes of redialing before 1 got thru to one doctor, but then the print job became idle and no longer tried the 2nd number because the maxium number of retries had been exceeded. I have no idea where to set that parameter.

Does Vista have friendlier software?

Anybody know how to set the retries in Windows 2000?

I found out how to set the number of retries.
I increased the retries to 10, it was set to 3.

Interestingly, one of the doctor's offices called me.
They received 11 copies.
So when the fax log states "transmission error", the fax might already have gone thru.

Yet another reason to stop using fax and accepting scanned files via email. Indeed, an automatic confirmation could be sent via email.
