I am trying to create a DVD and have files with extensions .avi and .mov Movie Maker wont recognize .mov files (taken on my iPhone). How do I convert these files to get them on DVD with all of my other videos? Thanks.

Hi!
Okay, what you want to do is open the file, then click "file" then go down to "publish movie".
When the box comes up, make sure it is set to "this computer" then click "next".
Now, type the name that you want to call the movie, then choose there you want to save it to (i chose desktop because it is easier to find).
Now click "next" then "publish".
And there you go!

before i convert as pp suggested I would like to try your way, but, when I open video with Quicktime OR Windows Live Picture viewer I have no option to "Publish". What should I use to open file?

@ Derek, thanks for updating that you tried software yourself...I was reluctant to try.

Are you trying to use Windows Movie Maker (WMM) or Windows Live Movie Maker(WLMM) ? Either way you still need to convert your .mov file to wmv or avi or something else that WMM or WLMM will recognize, Once you have it in WMM or WLMM you can publish to your computer or to DVD which will open Windows DVD Maker.
