Windows Explorer (File Manager) Folder Formatting

Is there any way to format folder file display for a group of folders (or subfolders) in file manager? I need to be able to do this to display my contacts properly, for example. It looks like you can either format file inforamation display for all the folders or an individual folder (one-at-a-time), but not a group of folders. If this is true, why?

I don't know if you could create another "type" such as Windows has for photos, music, etc.. I'd look through Brink's tutorials first. If nothing there you might try Windows Annoyances.

I applied Brink's fix, and was able to modify the "Not Specified" format and get it applied to all my folders. I then re-designed the contacts format, and got that to apply to just my contacts folders. Everything was working perfectly until I closed down Explorer. When I started it again, it had re-set my contacts folders back to "not specified" format.

I can empathize. I don't get into sophisticated file manipulation using 3rd party managers. Only occasional use of Q-Dir and Free Commander. So I don't know which apps to suggest. You might look on this site for someplace to start:

Brink suggested a solution that had also occured to me- instead of shutting down file manager, shut down the computer with file manager still running- it worked, beleive it or not!

Glad you clubbed it into submission. :)
