Picasa

A simple question from a relative novice :
I have been using Picasa for a while, but prefer to store and upload photos into the Vista Pictures folder, where I like the folder display. I know Picasa's albums are virtual, and therefore don't take up extra space on the computer, but what about the folders? Am I doubling the space taken up by photos on the computer by working in Picasa? .
Incidentally, I do back up from vista folders on to a separate hard disk

No, Picasa has its own database, but it uses your existing folders. On my setup, the Picasa DB is only 225MB, but my native Pictures folder is 3.7GB.

Have got a problem with 26 photos in picasa, suddenly showing the same picture.I was compiling an album at the time, and the web album is unaffected. The captions in picasa are correct, and when I click , the correct photo comes up. Why does this happen, can I prevent it? Have been advised to try rebooting and if that fails, to rebulid the database, saving any edits or albums to CD first.
How do I reboot?

To 'reboot' means to restart your computer. :)

Thanks;Of course! I should have known as I've seen the phrase crop up when the computer shuts itself down and restarts after a corrective manoeuvre. I thought it might be something more complicated. Rebooting hasn't helped, so I probably have to uninstall, then reinstall Picasa.
Thanks for helping a novice......:o
