Windows Media Center doesn't work anymore...

Hi to everyone who reads this.

I can start Windows Media Center up, but when I choose to show my Pictures or something else, Windows Media Center suddenly stops working and the program closes. No direct error messages shown.

Afterwards my HP Machine looks for a solution, but the only option revealed here is to do an update, but my PC is fully updated.

Is it possible to do a complete reinstall of Windows Media Center, without doing a complete PC reinstall?

Or does somebody have a better alternative?

Best regards Carlo

I am not sure if there is a way to reinstall just media center, But you could try to do a system restore or a repair install of vista.

Hi Thedarkside,

A System Restore is out of the question because I recently did a disk cleanup and the Shadow Copy's are removed, so thats no help.

But to do a Vista Repair is more helpfull, unfortunately when I bought my HP Desktop there was no DVD or CD with Vista Home Premium included, only Recovery Disks whom I had to burn myself.
A few days ago I did try to do a software reinstall of my recovery disks, but I couldn't do a Media Center reinstall.

No, this may not be kosher, but I recently dwnldd the "original" Vista Home Premium 64 bit DVD. Maybe I can try it from there.

I've never done that before so I'm gone give it a try...

Thanks for the tip and I'll post back when I have positive results...
