Computer not recognizing SD/MMC Card Reader

I have a eMachines computer that we recently changed out the motherboard on. Previously, it recognized the SD/MMC card reader with no problems. Now, it is not even showing the device. Tried "add hardware" but the computer isn't finding it. Everything is plugged in to the motherboard. Any ideas?

Hello gcornett and welcome to the forums

Can you follow these steps for me please:

1. Open the start menu
2. Type Device Manager in the search box
3. Look at this list for something with SD or MMC or card reader in it (for example in my laptop there is only a SD card reader and under device manager there is an entry called SD Hosts Adapters)
4. Expand it by clicking on the little triangle to the left of it and right click on whatever is inside it
5. Then select Uninstall

The reboot your computer and Vista will install the driver for you.
