Solved Windows Live SkyDrive - No access

After using Windows Live & Skydrive since its inception I now find that whenever I attempt to log in to Skydrive the address bar immediately shows "about:blanc" and sends me back to the log-in screen.
I have deleted the whole of Windows Live and downloaded a new copy.
Nothing changed.
Unfortuneately I have only one PC from which to try this.
Windows Live Messenger, Writer, Family Safety & Mail all work OK.
Also I have been using SkyDrive Synced Storage on Windows Live Mesh but now can no longer access the Windows Live Devices which contain my data.
The Syncing operates OK but when I try to access the Live Devices I get the same "about:blanc".
I now use IE9 but cannot be sure if the IE9 download coincided with the commencement of this problem.
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 on a HP Pavillion s3380a.

When you say you deleted it how did you delete it. Did you use the uninstall or just delete.

I'm sorry that page was of no use to you.
I thought it would be having the Help Centre for Hotmail, messenger & skydrive.
I will have to research further.

There is a venue named Windows Live Solution Center.
It handles all Windows Live issues.
This link is to Skydrive Threads forum :
SkyDrive Threads

The main link to Windows Live Solution Center is : Windows Live Solution Center

Note : There is a downside.... their response time is terrible, to put it mildly.
Please be patient waiting for answers.

Everyone of those assistance aids either wish to give me a new password (I've done that) or want me first to Log-in to Windows. That is what I CANNOT do.
Nowhere does the help chapters refer to the "about:blanc" screen my Log-in initially takes me to.
Once the "about:blanc" blank screen appears I'm sent straight back to a Log-in screen. A vicious circle.

Suggestion :

Uninstall IE9. Let the system reverts itself back to its previous IE version.
Try logon to Skydrive afterwards.

In case you don't know how to uninstall IE9 ......

Start button >in the search box, type programs and features > press Enter key > left column, click View Installed Updates > wait for it to load > scroll way down to find Windows Internet Explorer 9 > right click on it, click Uninstall.

Thanks for the suggestion to go back to IE8.
I've just tried it and...no change. But worth a try.

Another sympton is when using the sign in screen to sign in, the screen then oscillates between what appears to be two competing addresses. -

and -

The two addresses keep alternating in the address bar with a rapidity of about 4 per second for about 30 secs then -

The Windows Live Network is unavailable from this site for one of the following reasons:
  • This site may be experiencing a problem
  • The site may not be a member of the Windows Live Network
You can:
  • You can sign in or sign up at other sites on the Windows Live Network, or try again later at this site.
And so it goes around and around.

Your 2nd screenshot says "password is required " in red ink.

Any chance you did not enter the password in the first sign in screen ?

Thanks for the response.
Disregard the "password Required" it knows the password.
Just hit the sign in button.
Similarly with that 1st address shown just click on that. Either should start the problem.
As alluded to at the bottom of the thread reply, that 2nd address should have 4 lines of charactors just like the 1st but Vista Forum does not print it as I typed it(?)
Anyway it doesn't matter as like I said either address will start off the problem.

Problem solved.
After entering 'User Accounts' on the Control Panel I accessed 'tasks' on the Navigation Pane then "Manage your network passwords".
In there I found 6 spurious addresses.
When I deleted them my access to SkyDrive was OK. (ie no more "about:blanc" pages).
Just a quick thankyou to all who replied and a special thanks to Windows Live Mark Ryan D.
