Solved Can't Sign into WLM. Error: 80048406

A few days ago I wasn't able to sign into my WLM. I got this error:



When I click Retry, it just brings me back to the original error. When I click Troubleshoot, it takes me to this screen:



And clicking repair on it does nothing.

Very frustrating. A simple google search on the error code did nothing to help. I hope someone will be able to help me :/

Causes for your problem may be:

1. The system clock may be set incorrectly.
2. The Dynamic Link Library (DLL) softpub.dll, may not be registered on the system.
3. Internet Explorer may be using an invalid proxy server.

If this doesn't help you. Try following:

Shut down Messenger entirely by right-clicking on its icon in the notification area and choosing Exit, then download and run this .reg file that has been attached with this post. This .reg file reset all your setting in WLM.
