install Office for windows 95

How do I get Office for windows 95 to install on my Asus Vista operating system. I had it at one time and my computer crashed and I let the repair people reinstall my software. I have office 2007 installed. I have used the old office since it was new and I feel comfortable using it. I use the 2007 office when I need to open something from a newer application. Each time I try to install it hangs up looking for already installed componets.

Here are the requirements for Office 95:

Microsoft Office 95 requires a 386DX or higher CPU, and either Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows NT 3.51. 8 MB of RAM is the minimum for a Windows 95 installation. 28 MB of hard disk space is required for the compact installation, 55 MB for the 'typical' and 88 MB for the full install.

The only criteria that you don't meet is the OS - there is a max of Windows 95 whereas you have Vista. Luckily for you, Vista has a compatibility mode to allow programs designed for previous versions of Windows to be executed

Right-click on the installer, click Properties, click on the Compatibility tab, check the box Run this program in compatibility mode for:, then on the drop down menu, click on Windows 95, click Apply then OK.
