In Excel 2007, how do I add a column to the left of a column when there is only 3?

A

Advice Pro

I hid all but three columns and if I right-click on column A to insert a column, it becomes column B and no column is to the left.

I have Excel 2007
I put the cursor in column A, right click, and then insert.
Insert entire column. It appears to the left. Is this what you are doing

That's what I'm doing, but a column doesn't appear. What happens is that the first column becomes column B:

quite obvious there is a problem, give this a try. Not a fix, but a work around.
Rather than use insert column, try to move everything to the right, then save close and then try insert.
Be sure to get back to me, I am curious to find out if this may be a solution.

I get the same thing and that is because all other columns are hidden. If you note when you insert a column A becomes B. If you unhide the columns or you can select B and drag to the left, click unhide and then you see A.
