HI there,

Does anyone know how to customise right click menus in Office 2007 applications ? In Word 2003 I customised the right click menus to add a Paste Unformatted Text command but I cannot do it in any Office 2007 application.

I emailed Microsoft for help but to no avail. Google searches havent helped either.

Thanks

Hi Raj, Thanks for the post. However, I'm not quite sure how it helps me. Unless I'm missing your point, the image showed how to customise the quick access toolbar. THat's pretty useful but what I want to do is customise the right click menu not the quick access toolbar.
Cheers

Here’s a couple of very interesting articles that won't solve your problem exactly, but may still accomplish the task you are trying to deal with. I found the articles (and others) while Googling the subject of Right-Clicking on the Word 2007 page:

This 1st one comes from the official blog of the Microsoft 2010 product team -- but refers specifcally to Word 2007: http://blogs.msdn.com/microsoft_office_word/archive/2007/08/22/don-t-think-just-right-click.aspx Read through the article – it’s very logical and intuitive. Essentially, the author is telling us to right-click the exact spot we are trying to change. (e.g. Where is providing synonyms for a word useful? On the word itself. So right-click on the word. Where is restarting a numbered list useful? On the numbered list itself. So right-click on the numbered list. Where is changing the spacing of a paragraph useful? On the paragraph itself. So right-click on the paragraph.) Basically, "Even if you are sure you don't how to do X in Word 2007, check the right-click menu. . . even if you don't think it will help…you'll be surprised what right-click can do.."

This 2nd one comes from microsoft.public.word.docmanagement
“If it is any help, I have just talked to a M$ rep and found out how to reset the Right-Click Menu to original Default form.
------------------------------------
Close all MS Office Apps including Outlook.
In regedit, HKEY_CURRENT_USER, go to Software-Microsoft-Office-12.0-Word.
Rename Data to OldData
Rename Options to OldOptions
Close Regedit
In RUN (Start Menu) enter %appdata%
Goto Microsoft/Templates and make a back up of this folder.
Erase folder contents.
Start Word and the right-click menu should be reset to default
------------------------
It is evident that the manipulation takes place in the Data and Options
folders in Regedit and that makes permanent changes to the Normal.dotm file. Maybe from that you can figure out how to create what you want in the right-click menus.”

I was not expecting a response that quick :). I really appreciate.

I am going to go through all those links and see what i can come up with.

Cheers and thanks
