| Windows 7 x64 (7229) | Re: Latest CCleaner version released I don't understand a lot of things this program does but for a starter, If I choose to "fix unused file extensions" what does this do? I see file extensions there that I use all the time. For instance .CR2 It's a Canon extension for their RAW images. It's telling me this is an "unused extension" How about this example? Is it safe to run cleaner if you're not quite sure about everything it's fixing? Even if you create a .reg file it seems dangerous unless you know the registry pretty well. |

| Vista Ultimate 32bit SP2 | Re: Latest CCleaner version released Unused files extensions. That's one of those I do not clean out, based on bad experience. I clean out everything but this one and MUI cache. I make sure the other ones are OK to clean out first. What's MUI cache? |

| Windows 7 x64 (7229) | Re: Latest CCleaner version released I don't know what MUI cache is. I'm sure we could find out but. I wonder about a lot of that stuff. Missing shared .dlls active x and class issues among others. It would be cool if someone could post a safe list and general ideas of what not to mess with on this program. I have spent the day on Google trying to find out one by one. I am not a beginner by any means but not an expert. I would like to learn about all the stuff this program "fixes". |
