Help needed...

Hi all, you were a good help to help me choose b/w vista 32 and 64 bit. Now I have one further question...:

I have a unused Audigy 2 ZS, and my mobo has Realtek ALC888 7.1 HD sound onboard...

Considering the following :
- I want to do Photostory3 and Windows Movie Maker stuff high quality
- I would still like to be able to play games like Ghost Recon, COD2 and Far Cry with surround sound.
- I want the best performance, and the least headaches...

Which one should I use, the Audigy 2 ZS (and alchemy for EAX support) or the onboard (will I still have non-EAX surround in older games, and will it use too much my CPU for video editing?)...

Specs
Intel E6750
Mobo GA-P35-Ds3L
2 x 1 GB 4-4-4-15 OCZ XTC Plat Rev 2
MSI 8600GT OC

Thanks!

Being as you want high quality home made movies and EAX effects in gaming, I would get the new Auzen XFI Prelude 7.1 soundcard. A real nice blend of high quality movie/music sound and with alchemy (all drivers and updates found on website), EAX effects used in games. A really great card.

I agree with JaxMacFL. Auzentech cards are ace. I have the XMeridian 7.1 as I am more into music and movies than games and that card is the dogs for that stuff. The prelude is top notch as well..but...Creative drivers...yuk. Hopefully they might sort out their lousy support now they are in collaboration with Auzen.

A short note & quick update: The Auzentech XMeriadian 7.1 has been discontinued, (June 2007). There may only be residual stock available. Auzentech continue to provide driver updates.
X-Meridian Soundcard - C-Media CMI-8788 PCI sound card - Auzentech, Inc. Sound Cards. Audio You Can Believe In. World First soundcards for Music, HTPC, and Gaming.
Yup I know. Still the best for music though. If anyone can get hold of one of these babies, you certainly wont regret it. As it says, they are still doing driver updates for it as well, so Niiiice.
