Loading Soundfonts in Vista x64

Ok, I've just spent a day frustrating myself trying to figure this out, and I've failed miserably. I'm trying to load a Soundfont in Vista x64 to playback all the MIDI on my system. This may sound simple, but I don't have Soundfont capable hardware, so I'm trying to run it using software. I've tried both TiMidity++ and FluidSynth. Both of them install/run fine, but Windows detects neither of them as possible MIDI out ports, so I can't get them to take over my system's MIDI duties. I've read quite a few tutorials/threads on-line, but all of them seem to be dealing with the 32-bit version of Vista, and the suggestions haven't worked., which leads me to believe that it's a 64-bit specific problem. Have anyone managed to get a software Soundfont loaded in Vista x64?

Thanks,
Unno
