I cant seem to get my mic working

I am having troubles getting my mic/headset to do anything. Ive tried changing every setting that I see but nothing seems to be working. I have a Creative SB X-FI Sound card and I am using the Line In/Digital I/O/Mic In port for my Mic and the Line Out1 for my headset. Does anyone else have this set up that could help me out thanks.

Re: I cant seem to get my mic working

Hi SCole and welcome to the Vista forums.

In the audio properties, did you select the right source?

Re: I cant seem to get my mic working

Ive tried every source there is and I still don't get any response from my mic when I do the Mic setup or recognition. I am pretty new at Vista like a day new so I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or not. I have checked all the connections and paperwork to make sure the proper jack was in the right one but for some reason it doesn't work. I had it working with Vent but the voice was coming out the speakers instead of the headset but it never worked through the mic setup.

Re: I cant seem to get my mic working

Well, in the creative volume control program, in the main display look for the jack icon, there look under flexijack mode and select microphone, test!

Re: I cant seem to get my mic working

Well I figured it out. I messed with every setting and tried different inputs and all I would get was the sound of the mic trying to work but you couldnt hear anything I was saying. So I reinstalled the drivers and now it works just fine. Thanks for your time in replying and trying to help me.

Re: I cant seem to get my mic working

Does your PC case have a headphone jack in the front of the case?
