Yea I emailed Realtek about this issue, maybe if somebody else does the same, they will release some sort of fix or driver update or maybe at least respond to my email...

Re: ALC889A, Vista x64, Speaker Fill = rear speakers distorted

I have ALC888 and have the same problem.
I have a temporary workaround. I use Media Player Classic with K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 4.00. I enable custom mapping and map channel 1 to front speakers and centre. I map the channel 2 to rear speakers and centre. I could have mapped both the channels to the woofer but it became too bassy. I am using Creative T6060 speakers.
If anybody is able to do the same in WMP11 please tell me.

Re: ALC889A, Vista x64, Speaker Fill = rear speakers distorted

I had to revert back to Windows XP x64 and the speakers sound amazing! No problems at all and it looks like Windows automatically fills the rear speakers... too bad Vista aint got the correct drivers yet...

Re: ALC889A, Vista x64, Speaker Fill = rear speakers distorted

I have been browsing and found out from other forums that this is problem with speaker fill feature of Vista. Other sound cards are having the same problem with speaker fill. So some sound card manfucaturers have provided xp type speaker fill feature in their own mixer which directs sound to all speakers instead of doing any echo and reverb sh** like vista.

Somebody please post the e-mail address of the Realtek Driver Support so that we can all bombard them with e-mails requesting a fix.

Sure, bhai, that is a *really* smart thing to do. Piss them off so they block you and you get no chance of a fix.

How about being adult minded about it instead?

So we should keep the suggestions to ourselves and hope they get to know what we need telepathically?

If all the people with the problem send e-mails requesting a fix, they will implement it if possible or atleast add it to FAQs with an appropriate reply.

No - you post a link that has the email address posted on *their* website. That is their business. Simple, and effective.
