Re: i have no sound

To check your playback devices:

Click Start, type sound in the search box , then select Sound in the results listing.

Right click a device and select the option to Configure and then Test each device, when you're finished, ok the dialogue box .

Click Show Disconnected Devices to see what's listed there.

To Check Volume Settings:

Click Start>Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Adjust System Volume

Drag slider up or down for more or less volume.

Click mute button underneath slider to see if it's muted.

Hope this helps

Have you a Laptop or a desktop PC?

when you are trying to play the sound through your computer where should the sound be coming out, ie have you external speakers attached to your computer and if you do, do they have their own independent power supply ie a plug to the household power electricity?

Re: i have no sound

Hi,

I assume you use a minijack lead from the light green output socket on the back of your pc to the back of your monitor.

Try using the same lead and socket into your hi-fi to check they work.

If you use such a lead to connect the computer audio output to your monitor and you try connecting your computer via that lead to the Hi-Fi and it works okay, that means that everything is good as far as the end of that lead, and in that case it looks like you have a problem somewhere in the monitor.

Re: i have no sound

Exactly, it would obviously mean the sound signal was coming out of the pc fine and the output socket and the lead are fine .

The problem would be further down the line e.g. connector on the monitor , or inside the monitor itself.
