SRS Audio sandbox issue

Huge, yet simple issue with it, the SRS Audio sandbox is a fantastic program by the way I cannot begin to explain to you what it does to sound. I have done everything it seems to get this program working. The problem is, it just will not launch. No error comes up nothing freezes or crashes it just does not open. I am running as administrator, uninstalling advanced getting red of registry problems, checking sound devices updating it (on the device page in control panel it even says it is working fine). I have been right clicking into properties countless times to see if there is something I can click or some setting that needs to be changed.

What caused this it seems is after I downloaded "Vista Tweaker" and "Vista Manager" they both helped my computer so much with rebooting and speed but for some reason my SRS program just wont launch. I even got a different program from the same site and it works, (hate it compared to the sandbox) but it works. I went back through the tweaker and through the vista manager to see if I could of done something and I have been going at this like mad but I never clicked or changed anything that would stop anything from running let alone this program. And this is the only program that will not open. I even contacted the site that sells it and over 13 emails were sent with the tech guy telling me to do the most redundant stuff that I told him I tried. I am very computer savvy but this is just killing me.

I installed SRS Audio Sandbox to my gf's laptop . it really needs it, because the sound is very low itself (poor speakers, LG 110X)
It works fine there...I guess it used to work fine at yours too..

You could (if you haven't already) try the following:

1. If you installed a new antivirus, it might have some issues with the executable, some antivirus programs do crazy stuff to executable files or programs that write to disk. Try removing it to see if there are any changes.

2. Start task manager and stop any applications running, except for the Windows -System- applications/services. Try starting the program again and see if it starts. Then double check which application was the one not letting it open.

3. Try to find other versions of SRS Audio SANDBOX on the net, maybe the particular version has an issue with Vista.

4. Run a registry cleanup (maybe download and run ccleaner).

5. Uninstall and Install the program a couple of times , might remove hidden/forgotten settings.

6. Pray.

7. Uninstall "Vista Tweaker" and "Vista Manager" and try running the program again.

8. Pray a lot.

9. Uninstall the program, then manually search the registry and remove/delete every reference/key related to SRS Audio Sandbox.

10. Re-install or update your sound card drivers.

11. Keep praying.

12. If prayers don't help, do a clean install.

Haha, thanks so much, I needed to hear that, husband has been all pissy this Sunday because I have literally been down here for 4 and a half hours now trying to fix this. You just cannot go back to normal sound.

I will try those things, again thanks.

if you are using vista manager, this is a cool program but it is rather tricky and has amind of its own! you may want to check the start up manager of vista manager, make sure it didn't take the srs.exe out of the start up programs. if it did there should be a button to add new start up programs in that section. browse the program list in my computer and look for srs file and choose srs.exe.
and presto srs is back in your start up progams

I finally got srs audio to work with vista64bit ultimate. with the application open ,it has a box at the bottom of screen along the area where the start icon is .I right clicked and brought up Preferences-Devices-Hosted devices. This is where I clicked on( speakers) instead of what it had at first, which was( realtek hda hdmi out).It worked!!!!

hey Essentialone, great troubleshooting! you got it working.
Now i believe you are using Vista x64,
If this is the o/s version you are using, i would like to know if you get any issues when playing media. games, music, movies ect.
Since there is a known problem with SRS an Vista x64.
So you may spect that your sound may crash after listening to any media for a long period of time. the sound will be looped as a skipping cd does, and the only way to shut the sound will be by closing the application. (if the app didn't crash first) all the system sound will be gone, and finally the only way to get your sound back will be by restarting your system.
SRS is a great program but has its bugs when it comes to vista x64. And the problem lies on the driver that it installs. it works great with x32 versions of windows.
But lets see how it works for you, good luck!
