| Vista (Home, 32 bit I think?) | No more audio! I recently messed with services.msc, disabling or setting to manual a number of services that seemed to me to be ones that I did not need to start when my computer did. However, I guess I set to manual the Windows Audio service, which disabled my audio. It will not start. I set that service, and all of them actually, to Automatic, but it still will not start. I have no audio except for the system beep when I do something I'm not allowed to. The only reason I haven't entirely wiped Vista from my drive (I dual-boot with Ubuntu) is for a program (TrakAxPc) which I cannot get to run on Ubuntu. However, with my audio down on Vista, it's obviously pointless to try and use an audio-mixing program. Does anyone know how I can get my audio service back up and running? |

| 32 | Re: No more audio! Hi, I think I know exactly what your problem is. -Control Panel -Hardware and Sound -Sound -Then click on the speakers or Audio output that you want to use -And then in the bottom right hand corner it will say 'Set as Default' -A small tick should then appear on the logo of the select Play something through it after you have performed this operation. It should work - sometimes you have to leave it for a few seconds and then it will work. Hope this has helped Playback Records |
